SharePoint “14” will be SharePoint 2010

by Steve Sofian 22. April 2009 14:42

It is official now that the next version of SharePoint, which we used to call SharePoint 14 or SharePoint v.Next will be called SharePoint 2010.  You may notice that the term “Office” has been removed from the name.  So the MOSS acronym does not fit anymore.  You can read the details @ http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/archive/2009/04/14/microsoft-sharepoint-14-is-now-microsoft-sharepoint-2010.aspx

Tip: Access denied on Publishing Infrastructure

by Steve Sofian 8. April 2009 08:41

This is mainly a note to myself since I keep forgetting this.  If you have deployed SharePoint using least privileges service accounts for your SharePoint, you would be encountering “Access denied” error message when activating the Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure.

You can manually activate Publishing Resources via stsadm

stsadm –o activatefeature –name PublishingResources –url http://website

Blog was down and GONE :(

by Steve Sofian 2. April 2009 11:44

You might have noticed that my blog seems like a new blog.  While upgrading my blog, I thought I have FTP down my old posts, however, they were no where to be found :(.  Guess it is one of those days and not an April Fool's joke.

Terribly sorry if you have bookmarked any post and the post was gone.  Maybe this is a hint that I should start a fresh and bring in new perspective and more interesting article to the blog.

Thank you for continuing your support.
